TIMED COMPLETION ROUTE
Sort Them Ducks Speedrun: Under 4 Hours
Treat the under-four-hour clear as a practiced second run. Learn the shelf map first, then buy Sprint, Auto Shelves and Auto Collect early, batch only known destinations, park uncertain ducks in one location and skip optional eggs or experiments until the shop is complete.
Do a learning clear before the timed clear
The official achievement condition is simple—complete the game in under four hours—but the store contains more than 4,000 ducks. The timed attempt is therefore won through recognition and route control, not by reading every label faster on a blind first run.
On the practice clear, learn the broad shelf neighborhoods, special displays, Rainbow Tower colors and the safest place for unresolved ducks. The goal is to remove hesitation before the timer matters.
Documented early upgrade route
| Checkpoint | Purchase | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| First $50 | Sprint | Cuts travel immediately |
| Next $100 | Auto Shelves | Turns known destinations into faster placement |
| Next $150 | Auto Collect | Processes dense repeated ducks in batches |
The high-throughput loop
- Identify a duck without walking away from the current pile.
- Collect several ducks that share a known shelf zone.
- Move or throw them as one route rather than separate trips.
- Park uncertain ducks in one controlled unresolved area.
- Return to that area only after the easy volume has cleared and shelf gaps provide clues.
Skip these until completion is safe
Do not perform the deliberate 10-egg sweep, cash-register interaction, cosmetic inspection or optional achievement farming during the main timed route. Obvious eggs can be collected if they cost almost no movement, but the egg reward is not a supported requirement for the main ending.
Avoid early slot-machine spending unless a specific reward is essential to the tested route. Guaranteed movement and sorting abilities provide predictable gains; random cleanup can wait for another save or post-completion time.
When to restart the attempt
Restarting is reasonable when an early accidental ability choice, scattered unresolved pile or long period of category guessing destroys the planned route. A single bounced placement is not a failed run. Use larger checkpoints: early upgrade timing, cleared floor zones and the remaining shelf count.
Do not combine this with I Don’t Do Buttons. The documented fast route actively depends on abilities, while that achievement forbids pressing them.
