Missing One Duck? Use This Fix Order

Update and restart the game first, then use Respawn Ducks and inspect shelf backs, high ledges, windows, furniture gaps and Tower colors. Official Patch 1–3 notes confirm fixes for bad counts, out-of-bounds ducks, shelf trapping and save-loading problems.

Run these checks in order

  1. Install the latest update and fully restart the game.
  2. Use the in-game Respawn Ducks option, then make a fresh circuit.
  3. Check the duck name and color for Rainbow Tower pieces; do not force a spare color into a missing color slot.
  4. Look above eye level, behind shelf edges, beside windows and between office furniture.
  5. If the count is still wrong, keep your save and take screenshots before reporting the bug.

Why updating comes first

Patch 1 explicitly addressed endings blocked by missing ducks or incorrect counts. Patch 2 fixed several map boundaries that let ducks escape. Patch 3 fixed ducks becoming trapped behind shelves when thrown too close, plus save-load and inventory-interface issues.

That evidence changes the safest response: do not delete a save just because an older forum post suggests starting over. Bring the game current, respawn, and recheck before treating the file as damaged.

The physical hiding-place sweep

  1. Trace the top edge of each shelf from one end to the other.
  2. Walk behind or beside displays where the camera can hide a small object.
  3. Inspect windows, plants and narrow office gaps.
  4. Approach suspicious corners slowly so labels or highlights can appear.
  5. Finish with the Tower and every special display rather than only regular shelves.

Still stuck? Record evidence

Capture the game version, total count, unfilled shelf or Tower slot, and any duck that repeatedly respawns incorrectly. Keep the save intact. Those details give the developer something reproducible and protect you from losing a nearly complete shop.
